Based on Gary Owen’s much lauded and widely performed monodrama, Iphigenia in Splott, Effi o Blaenau is director Marc Evan’s cinematic interpretation set against the wide open landscapes of North Wales. Leisa Gwenllian is a force of nature as its working-class heroine Effi in this big screen version of the one-woman play.
